A thorough skin care routine is vital to keeping your skin hydrated, soft, and smooth. We highly encourage you to wash your face daily, apply a quality moisturizer, and wear sun screen when you leave your house. However, your skin care routine may not always be sufficient in keeping your skin bright and clear. Acne, age, sun damage, injury, and disease can all disrupt the surface of your skin, leaving it blemished and faded.

We invite you to explore our skin care services and find treatments that interest you. Micro-Needling – $150+

Are you tired of looking in the mirror and seeing fine lines, wrinkles, or scars from acne or chickenpox? Do you want clear, vibrant skin? Micro-needling therapy, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive and nonsurgical procedure designed to minimize lines and scars so that skin appears younger and fresher.

Micro-needling gained popularity in the early 2000s because it is quick and virtually painless. Your esthetician uses a dermaroller, a device covered in tiny needles, to prick the surface of your skin, creating micro-injuries that tell your brain to send more collagen to the epidermis. Collagen is a vital building block to creating radiant, healthy skin. To give your skin an even bigger boost, your esthetician may apply a serum to your face, which the dermaroller will push under the upper layer of your skin, allowing for a better penetration of the product. If the thought of needles makes you uneasy, your esthetician would be happy to provide a numbing cream to help you remain comfortable during the procedure. Following the treatment, your esthetician will apply a calming mask to soothe your skin.

The efficiency of micro-needling depends on the length of the needles used. Micro-needling can be performed at home, but the needles on at-home dermarollers are less than a millimeter in length, making them incapable of affecting scar tissue. Most dermatologists and estheticians use needles as long as three millimeters to reduce scarring and even skin texture and pigment.

If you are interested in experimenting with micro-needling in Pleasant Grove, Utah, we invite you to contact Alessandra Farra Skin Care to learn more about the procedure or to schedule an appointment. We strongly advise a minimum of six treatment sessions to see the best results. Micro-needling is especially recommended for dark complexions and suntans.

(treatment includes a 15 min LED mask treatment)

For optimal results, we strongly recommend a series of six sessions.

Microdermabrasion – $90

If you are interested in a nonsurgical and painless solution to your skin problems, we recommend that you consider microdermabrasion in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Microdermabrasion consists of a mildly abrasive wand that uses tiny crystals to exfoliate the layer of dead skin cells, leaving your skin fresh, polished, and glowing.

In addition to exfoliating the skin, microdermabrasion can also:

  • Reduce enlarged pores
  • Improve blackheads and acne scars
  • Lessen the appearance of sun damage, stretchmarks, and age spots
  • Reduce wrinkles and fine lines

While microdermabrasion is pain-free, it may leave the skin slightly reddened and irritated for a few hours, especially if your skin is sensitive. Following the treatment, your esthetician will apply sunscreen and a calming moisturizer to protect your newly-exfoliated skin.

Microdermabrasion can be performed at home, but with less dramatic results than you would receive from a professional. At-home dermabrasion requires weekly or even daily treatment to achieve the same results as monthly sessions at Alessandra Farra Skin Care. We usually schedule sessions at one- to two-month intervals, but may increase or decrease the frequency depending on your skin type and needs.

To learn more about the process and benefits of microdermabrasion, we invite you to contact our office today! Our friendly team of estheticians is dedicated to helping you choose the best skin care to help you reach your goals, and we are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Is your silky, firm skin concealed under layers of fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, or acne scars? At Alessandra Farra Skin Care, we can help you unveil your natural beauty by using a chemical peel in Pleasant Grove, Utah.

Your technician will apply a chemical solution to your skin that will exfoliate and peel away the dead skin cells, leaving the skin underneath smoother. Chemical peels are most effective on fair complexions and areas where the skin is not broken or sun-damaged. Before beginning the chemical peel process, your esthetician will perform a thorough evaluation to determine your skin type and needs to ensure you receive the best personalized treatment.

  • Lactic Peel – $85: A lactic peel is a very mild chemical peel derived from milk. It is an excellent choice for sensitive, dry, and oily skin.
  • Glycolic Peel – $85: This peel enhances your natural radiance by diminishing dark spots, tightening pores, and evening out skin tone.
  • Salicylic Peel – $85: Generally considered the mildest of chemical peels, the salicylic peel breaks down lipids in the skin and cleanses the pores.
  • Mandelic Peel – $85: Mandelic peels are ideal for acne-prone skin because they are antibacterial. It is also safe to use on dark complexions and Rosacea-affected skin.
  • TCA – $150: Also known as trichloracetic acid, a relative of vinegar, this peel has been used for over 20 years to treat sun damage and melasma.
  • Jessner – $150: Named after German-American dermatologist DMax Jessner, this is a very mild chemical peel that combines lactic acid, salicylic acid, and resorcinol in an ethanol base. It is very difficult to over-peel the skin.

When receiving a chemical peel, you may experience a mild stinging sensation, but you should not require an anesthetic. Following a chemical peel, your skin may take a few days to fully recover, and should be treated daily with moisturizing lotion and sunscreen. Your esthetician will discuss with you in advance how to care for your new, smoother skin.
