Are you considering having waxing treatment? Here are a few commonly asked questions and answers to help you make the decision.
Does waxing hurt?
The waxing process involves pulling hair out of the follicles, so yes, it is uncomfortable. However, you are in the hands of experienced estheticians who can make the process as pleasant as possible. If you are overly tired or are feeling sick, waxing can be a little more uncomfortable. If at any point you feel like you can’t handle the procedure, let us know and we can stop or give you a break. We are here to make this as pleasant an experience as possible.
For waxing to be successful, how long does my hair need to be?
Your hair should be at least ¼ inch long so the wax can successfully grab the hair. It takes about three to four weeks of no shaving to achieve this length. If you come in too soon after shaving, you may not achieve optimal results.
Will I be uncomfortable after my wax?
Many first-time clients are uncomfortable after waxing, but this varies from client to client. The more sensitive your skin and the coarser the hair, the more sensitivity you will feel during and after your wax. Some first-time clients are sensitive for about an hour and others are sore for a day or two. We recommend taking ibuprofen or Advil about 20 minutes before your wax and another after your wax. A cool compress can also help. Remember, waxing won’t cause any discomfort once you’re waxing regularly.
How often should I get waxing treatment?
Regular waxing is crucial. Depending on how quickly your hair grows back, we recommend waxing every three to five weeks.
